You go to the beach for one purpose only: to swim!
The beaches
Whether you're looking for a swim, a water sport, a stroll or just a look at the sea... on the destination's 33 kilometers of coastline, you're bound to find a beach that's perfect for you!
To make your choice easier, we've put together a small selection for you!
Feet in the water
In the family
"Do you remember the first time you saw the sea?"
From giant sandboxes to infinity pools, the beach is a place of discovery for children.
In summer, here are the ideal beaches for them to make the most of this playground:
- Supervised beaches
- Boutrouilles beach in Kerlouan
- Plage des Crapauds in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages
- Beaches with entertainment
More dynamic!
Swimming in the sea
After discovering pool tiles, you're looking for a new challenge!
The Centre nautique de Brignogan-Plages has set up a course in the form of two loops of 370 and 620 meters. If you do the whole thing and go from buoy to buoy (there are eight of them), you'll swim 1,200 m!
Camille has tested the course for you and shares her experience with you.
Where to swim at low tide?
It's decided, this afternoon you're going to swim, whatever the tide. Yes, except that if you go to the bays of Goulven or Tresseny (Guissény) you'll be splashing around in puddles!
We recommend you choose a "due north" beach. Choose from the Pointe de Neiz Vran (Kerlouan) to the Plage des Chardons Bleues (Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages).
Walking in water
Longe-côte
Originating in the north of France, this so-called "gentle" sport has also become a genuine leisure activity that allows you to do your body good while observing the coast from a different angle.
Longe-côte is practised all year round, on an oily sea or in the waves, and consists of walking in the sea once the water is at diaphragm level. The longeur (as it's called) works its muscles while protecting the lower spine.
So slip on your wetsuit and slippers for a little aquatic excursion to discover the sea and foreshore... in a whole new way!
People with reduced mobility
Everyone, without exception
Here's to the joys of saying in the water: "It's good when you're in it."
Have you heard of theHippocampe all-terrain wheelchair? Alone or accompanied, it allows you to explore the beaches and swim. This type of wheelchair and joëlettes are available at Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages and Guissény.
Not without medor!
With my dog
Vacations are for the whole family. You can't enjoy your holiday without your pet.
From June 1st to September 30th, please note that the beaches are closed to our friends except :
- Lividig beach in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages
- Lerret beach in Kerlouan
In the commune of Guissény, tolerance is observed on all beaches before 10am and after 8pm.
However, we advise you to read the by-laws at the beach entrances before taking your canine companions there.
Without garbage cans, the beach is more beautiful!
Objective: Zero waste
In addition to the visual and environmental pollution they represent, they are also an obstacle to the development of selective sorting. In fact, most of the garbage found on beaches could be recycled if it wasn't mixed with meal scraps and other organic waste in the same garbage cans. This, of course, when it hasn't been scattered on the beach by the wind or the curiosity of wild animals, who, attracted by food scraps, can rip open the bags and expose their contents to the elements.
To counter this phenomenon and protect a coastline that is still unspoilt and wild, the Lesneven Côte des Légendes Community has decided to remove garbage cans from its beaches!
