Quality approach

Tourism Quality Mark

After several months' work, the TCDL team has been awarded the Marque Qualité Tourisme by Office de Tourisme de France in June 2019.

This national recognition follows in-depth work by the team and the results of an independent audit carried out in June 2019 on all the structure's actions. Particular attention was paid to the organization of the Lesneven tourist information office and the Maison de Territoire in Meneham. This Marque Qualité Tourisme is valid for 5 years.

Tourisme Côte des Légendes has been committed to a reinforced welcome policy since 2017 in order to satisfy tourist and partner customers, with the aim of improving the quality of tourist services and in a logic of continuous improvement.

Working to ensure the satisfaction of all its customers and partners, as well as serving elected officials in the promotion and development of its territory, the implementation of a quality policy must enable the Tourist Office team to achieve its defined commitments.

The Tourisme Côte des Légendes team does its utmost to meet all the needs and expectations of its customers and partners, and is committed to :

  • Offering a warm welcome
  • Ensuring a personalized welcome
  • Guarantee clear, accurate and up-to-date information
  • Responding as quickly as possible
  • Take into account opinions and suggestions

Over and above the need to equip ourselves with a "framework" tool for day-to-day management, the implementation of this Quality policy within TCDL has a managerial role to play. This collective action also aims to give a backbone to our actions. It creates links within a multi-disciplinary team, which is growing and developing new and specific missions.
The Quality policy weaves internal links between employees who share common processes, values and objectives.

Nos partenaires s'engagent

The national standards are divided into 7 chapters for a cross-disciplinary approach:

  1. Commitments to the community
  2. OT internal commitments
  3. Promotion / Communication
  4. Commitments to institutional tourism networks
  5. Commitments to socio-professionals/partners
  6. Commitments to visitors
  7. The store

To this end, a quality referent has been appointed.
Regular information and follow-up meetings for the reception team, led by the Reception Referent, are organized, to which all technicians may be invited depending on the topic.

Strategic policy

The role of Tourisme Côte des Légendes is defined in the 2017-2020 objectives agreement drawn up with the Lesneven-Côte des Légendes Community. Tourisme Côte des Légendes has thus been entrusted with 7 "tourism" missions by the community: promoting the territory, welcoming and informing, planning and developing, animating and coordinating, promoting heritage, managing events, operating tourist facilities and collecting the tourist tax.

The Tourisme Côte des Légendes strategy therefore sets out these missions in its own annual action plan. This action plan also incorporates action sheets taken directly from the 2015-2020 regional project set up by the local authority for all its areas of responsibility, for its tourism component.

Tourisme Côte des Légendes' strategy also incorporates strong cross-functional concepts to guide and carry out its various missions:

  • The evolution of the region's positioning, with the Côte des Légendes in northern Brittany: a natural destination, preserved, wild, simple, true, direct, straightforward, on a human scale and with the men and women who live there,
  • Differentiating strengths on which to capitalize, with the development and support of specific activities: outdoor sports activities, hiking, cycling itineraries,
  • The rise of the Fabrique d'Imaginaire, with the gradual introduction of the legendary and the imaginary to the region through the P'tites Fabriques, the Ribin' de l'Imaginaire and the Grand' Fabrique,
  • The development of off-season visitor numbers, with a large part of the actions carried out specifically for this objective: creation of dedicated communication tools, support for non-holiday events,
  • Meneham is evolving into a true gateway to the Côte des Légendes, with a new positioning for the site, an overhaul of museum spaces and visitor services,
  • The human dimension and high standards are at the heart of our values and our day-to-day work, with the deployment of the Quality Brand, employee training and skills development, and the promotion of the Côte des Légendes through the people who love it and/or live there.

A tourist office committed to sustainability!

For a number of years now, Tourisme Côte des Légendes has been undertaking a number of initiatives to promote the local economy while protecting our planet.

Well aware of the significant impact of tourism on society and the environment, Tourisme Côte des Légendes works on a daily basis to maintain a balanced and sustainable tourism activity for local residents, visitors and partners, as well as for the biodiversity that is the strength of our region.

STEP 1: BE AN EXEMPLARY OFFICE INTERNALLY!

TCDL wanted to start by putting its own house in order! Every day, we implement eco-gestures in the office, with every team member pulling their weight, and it's paying off! At the same time, we're keen to take a broader approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (integrating our social and environmental values into our actions). The idea: to understand and improve working conditions.

Concrete action: TCDL has set itself 10 eco-commandments that the entire team must respect on a daily basis!

STAGE 2: ENHANCING NATURE TO BETTER PROTECT IT

Our ambition is to protect the environment and biodiversity of the Côte des Légendes. We're well aware of how lucky we are to live in such an unspoilt area, and that's why we feel it's so important to make tourists and locals alike aware of the fragility of the area, so that they can appreciate its beauty and the importance of preserving it.

A concrete action: at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023, an explanatory document dedicated to the nature of the Côte des Légendes will be published!

STAGE 3: INCREASING AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Raising awareness among visitors and locals alike, involving them in the process of preserving the Côte des Légendes... Not forgetting the area's partners and socio-professionals... That's the work we do every day! Nothing comes naturally, and TCDL's role is precisely to try and give visitors and local players the keys to participating in this collective dynamic around environmental protection!

Read our guide to the 10 eco-gestures of responsible tourism!

STEP 4: COMBINING TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

The Côte des Légendes is a territory far removed from mass tourism, which is a good point for developing a sustainable and desirable tourism strategy for the area.

It's worth noting that our Tourist Office supports local tourism and the promotion of local products and services, without any fuss! We're in favor of tourism that serves people from afar as well as locals!

We are committed to promoting a "slower", gentler form of tourism, based around walking, cycling...

Attracting traffic is great, but distributing it well is even better! That's why it's so important to regulate flows throughout the region AND in all 4 seasons! In short, Tourisme Côte des Légendes defines and implements a tourism development strategy that takes into account all the issues inherent in sustainable tourism.

Concrete action: study of motorhome traffic flows and work with communes and the Communauté de Communes on bicycle facilities!

And because we can always do better, an internal Sustainable Development working group was created in 2017. This group oversees the maintenance of our already effective actions and gets its brains working to give birth to and develop ever more new ideas in this area!
