For small feet

Family outings on the Côte des Légendes

Family vacations are great fun, but they need a little more preparation... especially when you like to go for a walk! To help you, Jessica gives you her 5 favorite hiking ideas to motivate your little troupe to put one foot in front of the other. Onward and upward!

Le folgoët

The Creyer valley and its small animals

Here's a walk that's even suitable for baby carriages! A small paved path winds through this bucolic valley. On either side, you'll find ditch goats and Ouessant ewes - local breeds that almost became extinct! At the end of the walk, there's nothing better than a short stop at the pretty wooden playground.

A detour to the Folgoët basilica is a must. Here, you can follow in the footsteps of such illustrious figures as Anne de Bretagne. You can also take your walk a little further to Caesar's camp. This ancient fortified position in the forest is a delightful playground for young and old alike!

Here's a little extra tip: toss a coin into the miraculous fountain behind the basilica. It's said to heal everything, even the latest boo-boo!

Kerlouan

The GR®34 accessible to all

The second stroller-friendly walk on this list! Here you are on the only truly stabilized section of the Côte des Légendes GR®34. The easiest way is to park at the Pointe de Rudoloc parking lot. You can return via the beach for a change of pace and to stretch your calves (or even take a dip?).

The most worthwhile detour here is to Meneham, less than 300 m away. Here, you can discover the famous house between the rocks, or stop off at the Bistrot des Légendes! A little further on, the chapel of Saint-Egarec is a lovely place to stop. Behind it, an underground fountain leads to a mysterious castle, and its water is said to heal sight and hearing. Hein, papi!

Here's a little extra idea: climb the rocks at France's second-largest bouldering spot. Initiations are organized throughout the summer for children aged 7 and over.

Guissény

Tresseny Bay and its seafront playground

Park in the parking lot at Plage de la Croix and walk straight down to the shore, around the large Croas an Aod. This seaside cross makes a great souvenir photo! Depending on the tide, this walk will take you through completely different landscapes... Ideal for explaining to your children this phenomenon so marked on our Côte des Légendes.

With your feet in the sand, make your way to the guardhouse before turning back onto the GR®34. Climb the astonishing "barrachou" rocks before descending to a small playground. It may not look like much, but it's the one with the best view! There's also a sports course right next to it, which is sure to please even the biggest kids.

A little extra: the Guissény guardhouse, less famous than its Meneham neighbor, nonetheless offers a magnificent view of the Côte des Légendes.

Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages

How to combine discovery and diabolo pose!

I don't know about you, but me and my kids like to finish our walks with a thirst-quenching stop in a bistro! So I suggest you head for Brignogan and do hike 12. Park at the Petit-Nice parking lot and walk along the coast. At the menhir, turn left to find your vehicle.

Now that's a 4.5 km walk just the way you like it! Along the way, you'll come across a lighthouse, a chapel between the rocks and a semaphore. And, as promised, you can quench your thirst either in the beautiful rotunda of the Hôtel de la Mer or on the lively terrace of the Café du Port.

Bonus: Have you ever seen a dragon's egg? This walk will give you the chance to do just that, and get your little ones' imaginations running wild!

ploudaniel

The walk that gets you going!

To finish this list, a word to the wise for youngsters who like to titillate the fish! Here's a walk to finish off with a fishing session at the Étang du Roudous, where fishing is reserved for under-12s! But first, I'd like to suggest a short 3.5 km walk along the same route as the foulée verte (just cut off at rue du stade).

You'll cross the path of the Aber wrac'h, which here is still just a small stream. Take a detour to admire the château de Trébodennic. As the walk passes through the village, buy yourself some sandwiches to enjoy on the picnic area next to the pond. For children who don't like fishing, there's another great playground on the other side of the Roudous park.

The little extras:
- The work " La Fantaisie du Marquis " illustrates the legend associated with the château de Trébodennic.

   - The undergrowth you'll come across on this walk offers a range of vegetation that changes with the seasons: iris, wild garlic, wild hyacinth...
