Swimming in the sea, invigorating and invigorating

Swimming in the sea isn't just about paddling to the buoy and back! In Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages, the Centre nautique de Brignogan-Plages has created and marked out two sea swimming courses, 370 and 620 meters long. It's a great opportunity to combine sporty swimming with discovering the seabed: don't forget your mask! Camille, from the tourist office, has tested them for you... and tells you all about it!

Sailing, gliding and water sports for all

The waters of the Côte des Légendes are ideal for water sports. Each beach has its own speciality! Sailing sports such as windsurfing, wingfoiling and wingsurfing are legion in the bay of Brignogan-Plages and the bay of Goulven on the Plounéour-Trez side.

On the latter, sand yachts glide easily over the stretch of sand left by the tide.

For a paddle or kayak outing, look no further than Meneham and Pontusval.

As for surfing, head for the beach at Boutrouilles (Kerlouan) or Curnic (Guissény). The spots aren't the easiest on the Finisterian coast, but if you know how to surf there, you'll know how to surf almost anywhere else!

Surfcasting and fishing on the Côte des Légendes

Fish and seafood are delicious... and even more so when you catch them with your own hands! The many rocks of the Côte des Légendes are popular spots for surfcasting, a technique for angling from rocks, beaches or dykes. As for the beaches, you'll find shellfish and small crustaceans, as well as edible seaweed, during high tides. However, don't go fishing blindly: certain restrictions are in force for your health and the survival of the species.

Tides: instructions for use!

That's right: here, the sea rises and falls every 6 hours or so: it's the phenomenon of the tides, directly linked to the moon, which changes the color of the sky in 1 hour, offers new landscapes and new colors every day, unveils beaches and rocks, or covers them when the tide rises. A little confusing if you're not familiar with it... but very easy to understand!

Sensitive beaches

Here, the sea is much more than a playground: it's a veritable resource. Omnipresent in our landscapes, in our daily lives, it doesn't hesitate to show us its power during storms or high tides. The sea is a great lady that everyone respects, protects and preserves. That's why we've set up numerous actions on on beaches and in all the protected by the Natura 2000 programprogram, to preserve these fragile spaces.
